 Sisseton School District Looking Ahead............
 
Pictured to the left is the preliminary drawing for the Athletic Complex that would be built on the high school campus on 8th Avenue West. It would include a football/soccer field, practice fields, grandstand, concessions, bathrooms, track and field.
More information will be available soon.

 Sisseton High School - Member of the Northeast Conference

  • The sports listed are offered for student participation at SHS.  All sports have varsity teams and many have junior varsity, while some have freshmen squads.

  • Member of the Northeast Conference & the South Dakota High School Activities Association.

  • Physicals:  Every athlete, grades 7-12, must have a completed physical on file in the athletic director's office before he or she can participate in the first practice of any sport.

  • Practice Sessions:  In most instances, all teams and coaches will practice or play five days a week.  By agreement with the Ministerial Association, no high school activities, practices, meetings, etc. should be conducted after 6:00 PM on Wednesday evenings.

    The following are three-digit extension numbers, which may be used to receive travel information about Sisseton Pubic School activity trips.  This information will include information only when the bus is leaving to return home from an out-of-town activity and will give the estimated time of arrival back in Sisseton.  To use, dial 698-7613.  After the operator begins, enter the three digits of the activity listed below that you are seeking information on.  You will get a voice-mail recording from the bus driver with current information. [You won't be able to actually speak to the bus driver.]  School patrons outside the local [698] telephone exchange may dial toll-free 1-888-307-3237 and then follow the same procedure.

    STATE PLACEWINNERS AND COACHES -- Two Redmen placed at the State ‘A’ Wrestling Tournament in Rapid City Feb. 26-27.     Eight Redmen qualify for State A Wrestling Tournament!
    Sisseton’s  Darin Peterson (103 wt class), Jackson Metz(125 wt class), Daniel Kirk(130 wt class), Christian Jensen(135 wt class), Zach Channel(152 wt class), Casey Goodhart(160 wt class), Shane Christopherson(171 wt class), and Aaron Toelle(215 wt class) qualified for the State Wrestling Tourney to be held in Rapid City on Friday,  February 26th and Saturday,  February 27th.  Good luck!

     Redmen Gymnastics News....
    Three Redmen qualify for state gymnastics competition!
        Sisseton’s Heidi Hansen, Tayler Huff and Brooke Fisher qualified for the state competition in All-Around during the Region 1A gymnastics competition held Friday, Feb. 12 in Deuel.  Heidi  Hansen of Sisseton placed 8th on vault with a score of 8.70 and 12th on bars with a score of 7.275.  Tayler Huff placed 6th on Beam with a no fall routine that earned her 8.15 pt.  Earning enough points to qualify for  the state gymnastics meet were Brooke Fisher, Heidi Hansen and Tayler Huff. The gymnasts will compete in Aberdeen at the state gymnastics meet in on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19 and 20, 2010. (article courtesy of Sisseton Courier)
