Dual Credit

What are Dual Credit courses?
These are courses that are taken through any South Dakota university or a technical school and allows the student to earn both high school and college credit for the course for a reduced price. 

How much does it cost?
The cost is $48.33 per credit hour or about $150 for most 3 credit courses. This does not include the cost of books or online resources which the student is also responsible for paying. 

Who can take Dual Credit course?
High School junior eligible to enroll in a high school in South Dakota who meets one of the following requirements: a) earn an ACT composite score or superscore of 24 reflective of the 70% percentile; or b) rank in upper one-third of their graduating class; or c) earn a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale; 3.2.

High School senior eligible to enroll in a high school in South Dakota who meets one of the following requirements: a) earn an ACT composite score or superscore of 21 reflective of the 50% percentile; or b) rank in the upper one-half of their graduating class; or c) earn a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale;

Any Sisseton High School Junior or Senior who meets the requirements above and with a minimum GPA of 3.0 may take up to two dual credit courses in their first semester and up to three in any subsequent semester. 

What courses are available?

-The Dual Credit Dashboard is the best place to find out what courses are available each semester just make sure when you search that you set the location to ONLINE. 

When can students apply?

-Applications for Spring 2024 will be available November 1st and closes January 8th, 2024
-Applications for Fall 2024 will be available April 8th, 2024.

 If you drop a dual credit class after the drop date you will receive a W in the class and will not be able to take dual credit classes in subsequent semester.
