NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
SISSETON SCHOOL DISTRICT 54-2
A School District Election will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in all the voting precincts in Sisseton School District 54-2, Sisseton, South Dakota. If the polls cannot be opened because of bad weather, the election may be postponed one week.
The election polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CDST on the day of the election.
Candidates seeking the 3-year terms for board member residing anywhere in the district are: Lenny Wegener, Aaron Rolstad, Carla Anderson, Jaime Donnell, Jennifer Pelzel, and Matt Peterson.
Candidates seeking the 1-year term for board member residing anywhere in the district are: Ryan Hellwig and Laura Nielsen.
The polling place in each precinct of this district is as follows:
EXCEPT FOR ELECTORS LIVING IN THE FORMER NEW EFFINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 54-3 AND THE FORMER VEBLEN SCHOOL DISTRICT 45-3, those qualified electors living north of the Peever Elementary attendance line which is the section line four (4) miles south of State Highway 10 and running the entire east-west width of the school district shall be required to vote in the front lobby of Roberts County 4-H Center in Sisseton.
THOSE QUALIFIED ELECTORS LIVING SOUTH OF THE PEEVER ELEMENTARY ATTENDANCE LINE shall be required to vote at the Peever Lutheran Church.
The Peever Elementary attendance line runs east and west between Sections 13 and 24, 14 and 23, 15 and 22, 16 and 21, 17 and 20, and 18 and 19 of Easter, Goodwill, Drywood Lake and Buffalo Townships.
THOSE QUALIFIED ELECTORS LIVING IN THE FORMER NEW EFFINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 54-3 in Bossko, Minnesota and Norway Township and the Village of Claire City shall be required to vote at the Claire City Community Center.
THOSE QUALIFIED ELECTORS LIVING IN THE FORMER NEW EFFINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 54-3 in Enterprise, Harmon, Victor, Hart and Lien Townships and the Village of New Effington shall be required to vote in the New Effington Community Center.
THOSE QUALIFIED ELECTORS LIVING IN THE FORMER VEBLEN SCHOOL DISTRICT 45-3 in Bossko, DuMarce, LaBelle, Lake, McKinley, Nordland, Norway, Veblen and Victor Townships and the Village of Veblen shall be required to vote at the Veblen City Hall in the old Veblen Elementary School.
