Congratulations to Carla Santos, 6th grade Science teacher at Sisseton Middle School! She was named Outstanding Earth & Space Science Teacher by the South Dakota Science Teaching Association.

The Sisseton School District Native American Parent Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 25, from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the Sisseton HS/MS Multipurpose Room.
All are invited to attend.

The SMS Science Fair will be held in the Performing Arts Center on Tuesday,, February 10. There will be public viewing from 1:00-3:00 and 4:00-7:00 on Tuesday. Stop in during conferences to see what our 8th grade students have accomplished.

Due to predicted weather conditions, the Sisseton School District is closed today, December 18, 2025. All school activities are cancelled/postponed.

The Sisseton Middle School Awards Program will be held Friday, December 19 at 9:00 AM in the Performing Arts Center. We hope you can join us as we celebrate our students' accomplishments.

Winter Break is December 22 - January 2. PD on January 2.
School will resume on Monday, January 5.

Patriot's Pen Winners - Students in grades 6-8 recently competed in the Patriot's Pen essay contest sponsored by the VFW. Students wrote an essay on the prompt, "How are you showing patriotism and support for our country." The top three winners in each grade received a monetary prize and certificate at the Sisseton VFW and Auxiliary Christmas party. In addition, Sarah Groos was named Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to all!
