PUBLIC MEETING – BEN REIFEL GYMNASIUM PROJECT
The Sisseton School District will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to share information and gather community feedback regarding potential additions, renovations, and/or reconstruction of the existing Ben Reifel Gymnasium and its accessory spaces.
Representatives from Co-Op Architecture and Comstock Construction will be present to provide information, discuss potential options, and answer questions. Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more about the project, and provide input as the District considers future improvements to the Ben Reifel Gymnasium.

Vision screenings will take place Thursday, October 22 at Westside Elementary, and Friday, October 23 at SMS. Parents - if you do not want your child to participate in the screening, please contact the school office by Monday, October 19.

If your family’s financial situation changes during the school year, you can submit a new Free or Reduced-Price Meal Application anytime. Families qualifying for Free/Reduced meals must complete and submit an updated 2026-27 Free and Reduced Meal Application. Families who qualify for reduced meals will also receive free meals. If a current, valid application is not on file, families are responsible for meal charges until an application is approved and eligibility is confirmed. Free/Reduced Meal Eligibility does not transfer from one school year to the next.

Pay for meals through your Campus Parent account - online or in the Campus Parent app. Recurring payments are available weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or when your student’s balance is low (minimum $10 online payment).

The Roberts County Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 14, from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the Ben Reifel Concourse. Flu vaccines are available at no cost. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Flu shots are available for children ages 6 months and older to adults (age 64). High-dose influenza vaccines for adults ages 65+ will not be available.

Theater 605 Tours (formerly Dakota Players) will join us next week for the student performance of Space Pirates. Student auditions for are open to students in grades 1-12, and will be held on Monday, September 21 at 3:45 p.m. in the PAC. The performance will be on Friday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m.

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra invites you to the music composition academy concert on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our students and staff, the Sisseton School District proactively tested water fixtures throughout our facilities for lead before this testing was required.
We received the results today and have already taken precautionary steps to address the small number of fixtures identified through the testing. Importantly, the findings are specific to individual faucets and fixtures and do not indicate an issue with the District’s water supply.
