Save the Dates: Join the Sisseton Special Education Department for sessions presented by the South Dakota Parent Connection on Autism and Related Disorders. SRO Lindsey Zastoupil 'shared kindness like confetti' this week with our 3rd and 4th graders. She placed personalized handwritten notes of encouragement to all students taking state assessments. Thank you SRO Lindsey! We are daily grateful to have you in our schools and our community.



The 2nd Grade Class took the day and traveled to The University of Minnesota in Morris today to see the play
'Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook'. The play was outstanding and the students were able to be in attendance on a college campus. Our amazing bus drivers Mikey and Alan drove us to a local park, where we had a picnic lunch and playground time in the sun! Thank you to the parents/grandparents and chaperones for joining us today. It was a memorable day together.


Each week we get to celebrate big and small wins! The photos highlight a few of our weekly BIG wins. Fourth grade learners spend quality time with others from preschool to adult plus at Edgewood and Tekakwitha. Thank you to all that continue to make these opportunities possible.

Educators from Westside attended 'A Night of Development' at Lake Area Technical College Tuesday, March 25. Motivational speakers included: John Stiegelmeier, Dan Thurman, and Mike Rayburn.
Topics included: Make A Difference for and with others - WHO matters most in your life, In balance means adjustments and continuous changes and 'What If' - any idea can become reality with a goal, plan, action steps and accountability.
It was an outstanding night of learning, laughter and making moments memorable together as a team.








Reminder: 2025-26 Kindergarten Registration/Screening will take place on Friday, March 21, from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Screening includes a short kindergarten readiness assessment with information for parents/guardians. Please visit the Westside Elementary Office to complete your child's registration. Please bring a copy of your child's current immunization record and certified birth certificate. Children enrolling in kindergarten must be at least 5 years only on or before September 1, 2025 to be eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year.
