Schedule Update - Tonight's South Dakota Parent Connection meeting on Autism and Related Disorders session has been canceled. Please join us for next month's meeting on February 24.

Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for winter weather. Students riding the bus need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, such as long pants and a coat.
Learning is cool, but we want our students to stay warm!

Save the Dates: Join the Sisseton Special Education Department for sessions presented by the South Dakota Parent Connection on Autism and Related Disorders. The sessions will be live-streamed in the Sisseton School District Multipurpose Room. All are welcome to attend. The next session is January 20 from 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Thank you for making sure your child is at school ON TIME and in school ALL DAY 8:20am - 3:20pm.
MORNING DROP OFF - Thank you in advance for following ALL Crossing Guard Guidance for SAFETY of and for our children. SLOW and SURE in ALL school zones.
Please pull all the way forward - whether someone is in front of you or not and then we get our 'steps' in (health opportunity for our kids) others will soon be behind you. We are here to look out for the safety of all at all times.
END OF DAY - Pick up line begins to move by 3:23pm . ALL vehicles in the pick up line have priority for pick up. If there is a change for end of day-please keep to a minimum - our learners crave consistency and thrive with what is consistent. Changes must be called in by 2:30pm (605) 698-7613 ext. 4100. Please do not walk across the crosswalk when the pick up line is moving as this 'stops' the pick up process and slows the pick up line. Always Safe.

Ms. A invited parents of our preschool learners to school today to hear them sing, make gingerbread houses, and have lunch. It was a memorable time for all. Due to forecasted weather conditions, the Sisseton School District will dismiss early. SMS/SHS will dismiss at 2:00. WS will dismiss at 2:10.


The Sisseton School District's last day of school before winter break is December 20, 2024. Staff return on Friday, January 3, 2025. Students return on Monday, January 6, 2025.


Thank you Sisseton Courier for the opportunity to write Santa letters. The letters from our preschool learners will be in the Courier this week. Ms. A and her preschool class would like to especially thank the Courier for giving them copies of the newspaper today. We are thankful for our small town businesses that care to give their very best for our community.
Thank you also for live-streaming the elementary concerts.


Congratulations to all third and fourth grade students. The concert last night was OUTSTANDING! Thank you for Miss Z for teaching our students and above all for caring as much as you do. You are greatly appreciated. A standing ovation to the audience. Your professional, respectful presence before, during and after the performance along with your applause for our students was welcomed. We are fortunate to have a facility such as the Performing Arts Center, last night was a well done performance by all in a theater setting. Thank you for your daily dedication and support for our children to take advantage of educational opportunities to be their very best now and for the future. Merry Christmas!





Congratulations to the 20 Westside WAVE Learners in the photo! The students names were drawn from their fall conference bingo tickets and they were each awarded a shirt. Second semester we will hold a drawing for 20 more shirts to be awarded. We look forward to celebrating the season with 3rd and 4th grade music concert
Friday, December 13 at 7:00pm.
Students are to arrive at 6:45pm and will go to their class areas to be lined up for the performance. Parents/guardians please keep their coats and any outdoor gear with you. Any parents/students that may arrive before 6:45pm the children will then remain with you until 6:45pm.
The concert will last approximately 30 minutes. All participants will remain at the concert the entire performance. Parents/Guardians and/or Family Members will pick up their child(ren) at the conclusion of the performance.
Performing Arts Centers Etiquette
Arrive on time: Being late can disrupt the show's flow
No food, drink, or chewing gum is allowed in the theatre or the lobby.
When entering the theatre, turn off or silence all cell phones and pagers. It is disrespectful to the audience members around you and to the performers on stage to use one of these devices during an event.
Avoid entering and exiting during the show: If you need to leave, do so during an applause break.
Be considerate of others: Use the facilities before or after the performance.
Softly open and close doors.
Don't let children roam the facility unattended.
No feet on the back of seats, no standing on seats, and no hopping over seats.
Talking during a performance is discouraged. It is disrespectful to the performers working to entertain the audience.
Remember the performers have practiced and are working to entertain you, the audience.
At the end of the performance, it is the right time to show your appreciation for the performer’s hard work. Show your appreciation: Clap at the end of the performance to show your enjoyment. (Not yelling out names of the performers or getting the attention of the performers other than to applaud the performance).
This state-of-the-art facility was built for your enjoyment. Come to the theatre and enjoy all the outstanding student performers ready to entertain you.
