HUGE Shout Out to our parents/guardians that daily make sure drop off and pick up is 'Always Safe'! We appreciate YOU! Thank you for having your child at school on time at 8:20am and in the pick up line by 3:20pm or after. The end of day pick up line begins to move approximately 3:23pm and is done by 3:30pm. Patience is key! It goes quickly when all cars stay in the line one behind the other - slow and sure. It is important to be 'always safe' as we drop off and pick up our most prized possessions - our children each day.

Constitution Day - September 17 The U.S. Department of Education has responsibility for implementing the Constitution Day legislated mandates. Among these is the requirement for educational institutions that receive Federal funds to hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year. Another exciting week at Westside! Morning Meeting each day! Kindergarten read The Tortoise and the Hare....with live characters! We get to take advantage of moments to learn, share and play in the beautiful weather! We look forward to seeing ALL learners ON TIME ALL DAY - EVERYDAY! It makes a difference! We had a great time at the parade! A huge shout out to our parents/guardians/staff and students for working together for a safe, smooth and enjoyable pick up yesterday! We get to do this one day at a time for our students. Have a relaxing weekend! We look forward to seeing all learners on time, all day everyday this coming week 8:20am-3:20pm. Westside celebrated spirit week with class colors today! Friday, September 6 is School Spirit Day - Red, Black, White. Go Redmen! The parade is at 1:30pm Buses will run after at 2:50pm If picking up your child before the parade attendance will not be deducted for early pick up if it is 12:00pm or after. Once the parade has started no pick up will occur until the parade concludes. If planning to attend the Homecoming game - ALL WESTSIDE ELEMENTARY students must arrive with an adult and remain with an adult the entire game. No drop off of elementary students at the football game. An adult MUST be present with their child.

Homecoming Parade information for Elementary Students - Note will be sent home with students today. It is due back to your child's teacher - Thursday, September 5. The additional document is the Sisseton School District approved policy for ALL elementary age students at all school activities. If you have an elementary age child and you intend to attend the football game, make plans to be WITH and PRESENT with your elementary age child at all times. Happy Homecoming Week! Go Redmen!

At Westside we continue to be Well Prepared, Always Safe, Value Respect and Eager to Learn! Thank you to all parents/guardians for making school a priority while in session to be on time all day everyday 8:20-3:20pm and for expecting only the best of our children each day! We appreciate you. Homecoming is next week! We look forward to celebrating our school and community together. Reminder ALL ELEMENTARY AGE children MUST be with an adult the entire football game - as for all extra activities. Attendance Matters! On Time! All Day! Everyday! Westside begins at 8:20am and ends at 3:20pm. The Attendance Challenge has started! Classes are daily recognized for 100% attendance on time all day! The classes that reach the first goal of 10 perfect attendance days receive a bonus recess with Officer Searles, Counselor Ziemer and/or Principal Moen😀
